Staten Island Geocaching Day 8/2/15?

It appears that Sunday, August 2, 2015 is shaping up to be a day to go Geocaching in Staten Island. At the moment 3 events are scheduled for August 2.  Starting at 8 am you have Summer Vacation followed by Kayak Fresh Kills at 2:30 pm and then finishing the day with Brewing a cache at 6 pm. There are also some really nice caches to find on the Island. If you come prepared you can find the 5 difficulty/5 terrain QUACK, QUACK!  A nice group of caches by SynDaLog can be found at “The Bone Yard”. On June 16, 2015 another event scheduled for August 2 was published Staten Island meet and greet UPDATE to the Kayak event: There have been some changes to the Event Page so please reread it! some changes included, a Shuttle Bus Fresh Kills will be running from the Staten Island Ferry to the Park, so if you are using public transportation for the day, this will make your day much easier! 11th Annual Manhattan Proto-Picnic Event

http://coord.info/GC5WGZW It’s the “11th Annual Proto-Picnic!” That’s over 4000 days old! Come on into the city and grab those nearby Central Park caches still on your “to find” list!   Saturday August 29th, 2015 – Converge anytime from 1pm until 5pm (or more, some people can’t get enough!) – this leaves plenty of time for Central Park caching before, during and/or after. This is the “11th Annual Proto-Picnic!” There are always new Central Park caches to be added to your finds, and some Puzzle Caches that you might want to work on with others in time for the event. There are open outdoor tables at the Le Pain Quotidien in Central Park (it’s not a fancy restaurant – it’s a little outdoor snack café area) and we’ll meet there informally. It’s a “Proto” Picnic because you’re not required to bring food! And Central Park is “kid friendly” too! Bring along your extra geocoins for trading, the usual “TB Trade-Offs” will take place. So make this a fun opportunity to come into the city for those Central Park caches still on your “to do” list, and have a snack and some icy cool beverages (out in the typically hot weather!) with your geocaching brethren, sisteren, and children! Saturday, ...
