Introducing a brand new kind of souvenir challenge. Starting December 11, get ready for a three week challenge of geocaching two times per week to earn one special souvenir! It’s the final countdown to 2020 so finish the year strong! The sooner you start, the more likely you’ll be to succeed. Are you ready? It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3! 3 weeks: December 11, 2019 – January 1, 2020. 2 geocache outings per week: Find a geocache on 2 different days each week. (Note: You can geocache for any six days during the 3 weeks or break it up into two times per week, the choice is yours!) 1 souvenir: Earn a souvenir if you geocache two days per week December 11 –  January 1. The Geocachers of Long Island (GoLI) held their Inaugural event and it was a huge success. Over 100 cachers, family and friends attended the event on a beautiful day at Eisenhower Park.   The event brought out Geocachers and former Geocachers who want to get back into the hobby. Prior to attending the event 14 new Geocaches and an Adventure Lab Cache were published.  The meal was a potluck so many Geocachers brought something and together made for a nice BBQ.  There was a raffle which had many nice prizes which were donated by the attending Geocachers.  In addition there was a 50/50. During the BBQ attendees were able to catch up with old friends and make new friends.  Geocaching Travel bugs were exchanged and discovered. This was a nice relaxing event and I look forward to future Geocachers of Long Island events.
